Energizing Oregon’s Economy
Community Reinvestment Fund, USA partnered with Craft3 and JPMorgan Chase to fund the development of a manufacturing facility that will allow EnerG2 to produce carbon material to increase the energy storage capacity of batteries. The $100,000 grant from MMT helped Community Reinvestment Fund, USA make community and life changing loans to small businesses, like EnerG2.
EnerG2’s new plant in Albany, Oregon opened in March 2012 and supports 35 high paying jobs in an area struggling with double digit unemployment. EnerG2 researches and develops cutting edge nano-engineered carbon products primarily for energy storage in hybrid and electric cars. While Oregon has always been known for strong environmentalism, EnerG2 shows how energy efficient technology can support local economic development.
