What was your life experience before you came to MMT and how does it contribute to your work at MMT?
Before coming to MMT, I worked at SOLV for a little over 3 years in the program department, supporting volunteer led environmental projects and dabbling in design, web and marketing. That experience ignited my passion for non-profits, and helped me embrace my inner marketing and tech geekiness for good.
What high school did you attend?
Skyline High School in Salt Lake City, UT
When you graduated from high school, what did you want to be?
A college student, somewhere away from home. With a girlfriend. After that, maybe a filmmaker.
How long did you follow that plan, where did it lead?
I kind of stuck with it for 4 years, studying film among other things in college. I managed to put off settling into a career by teaching English in Japan for 2 years after that. Then the girlfriend led me to Portland.
If I met my high school self, I would say:
Something like, “You have great friends. Stay in touch with them.”
What were your favorite extracurricular activities in high school? What did you do for fun?
I played a lot of soccer and enjoyed making and watching movies.

Radiohead, Tool, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins…a lot of rock.
